Quantity Surveyor


University degree in civil engineering, quantity surveying or equivalent, and/or Chartered Surveyors or expected to be qualified as a chartered surveyor.


Minimum 5 years’ experience, which at least 3 of 5 years of experience in the Arabian Gulf region.

General responsibility:

Responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects.

Job descriptions:

  1. Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
  2. Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
  3. Assisting in establishing management requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
  4. Performing project risk analysis, value management and cost control.
  5. Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks.
  6. Preparing and analyzing costings for tenders.
  7. Allocating work to subcontractors.
  8. Providing advice on contractual claims.
  9. Analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.

10.  Valuing completed work and arranging payments.

11.  Keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports.

12.  Maintaining awareness of the different properties.

13.  Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

14.  Providing post-occupancy advice, facilities management services and life cycle costing advice.

15.  Advising on the maintenance costs of specific real estate.

16.  Manages all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures.

17.  Seek to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

18.  Participating in real estate’s valuations and re-valuations when required.

19.  Providing advice and forecasts about costs.

20.  Site visits, assessments and projections for future work.

21.  Working to keep the project on time and within budget.

  1. Making sure that construction costs and production are managed as efficiently as possible.
  2. Participate in resolving disputes between contracting parties.
  3. Participate in contractors’ performance evaluation and re-evaluation.
