New Rolls-Royce Debuts in Bahrain

Euro Motors, the sole importer for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in the Kingdom of Bahrain, today unveiled the new Phantom Drophead Coupé in Manama.

The Phantom Drophead Coupé is a two-door, four-seater convertible combining the latest in light-weight engineering technology with the finest hand-crafted materials. It features several unique design options, such as a stainless steel bonnet and teak decking – inspired by sailing yachts.

Each car is individually built by highly skilled craftsmen and women at the company’s world headquarters in Goodwood, on the south coast of England.  The Phantom Drophead Coupé offers owners an unparalleled convertible experience, combining compelling drivability with exceptional engineering.

Mr Zayed Al Zayani, Managing Director of Euro Motors, said, “Deliveries of the new convertible have already commenced, and first feedback gained from our customers proves that this new Rolls-Royce is a fusion of timeless design, modern technologies and finest materials. Our pre-orders lead well into next year, which is extremely encouraging.”

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars´ Managing Director for Europe and the Middle East, Axel Obermüller, stated, “We are pleased to see the continuous development of Rolls-Royce in Bahrain, with substantial growth during the last years. I am convinced that the latest member of the Phantom family, arguably the most luxurious convertible in the world, will add to this success story.”

Rolls-Royce has just announced that by the end of September it had retailed worldwide 22 per cent more cars compared to the same period last year with demand for all models increasing.

With the addition of the convertible to the range, the luxury car manufacturer now offers three models including the Phantom and Phantom Extended Wheelbase.

Maserati GranTurismo Lands in Bahrain

Maserati and Euro Motors, the exclusive importer for Maserati in the Kingdom of Bahrain have launched the new Maserati GranTurismo,at the Ritz Carlton Hotel on the 12th November 2007. 

The new Maserati GranTurismo is a high-performance sports car, exciting to drive with a 4.2 liter V8 engine, delivering 405 HP, and a weight distribution of 49% at the front and 51% at the rear. It is fitted with an automatic gearbox and equipped with an adaptive control system which adjusts the gear-shifting mode to the driving style and the driving conditions.

Maserati’s tradition of the Gran Turismo concept dates back to 1947 when the Trident Company, following its clients’ demand, unveiled its first Gran Turismo. It was designed by the great Pinin Farina, and based on the racing chassis of the A6 1500cc. It was the first Maserati road car and was produced in 58 units. The car was acclaimed by the automotive press for its advanced technical content and for its avant-garde style solutions.

“We have experienced unprecedented customer interest in this vehicle and have pre-orders for the convertible leading well into next year,” said Zayed Al Zayani, Managing Director, Euro Motors.

The new model name – Maserati GranTurismo – is not incidental. Once again, the partnership between Maserati and Pininfarina gives birth to a car that is able to generate emotions and sets itself apart from competitors, due to the technique with which it is built and its unique style.

The New Azera Navigation System

Talks in Arabic and English with one touch screen that takes you directly to Mecca

Hyundai has been in the automotive market for many years. However, in the past three years the car maker has managed to get their act together and prove to the world that they can build quality cars able to compete with the likes of Toyota and Nissan. Hyundai now surpasses several competitors when measured on a global basis, thereby one of the top brands in the automotive industry. The new Azera is a testament of that fact.

The Azera competes with large sedans the likes of Toyota Avalon and Chrysler 300. It features graceful four-door lines that the automaker says are aerodynamically efficient.  The Azera first debuted in 2006 and this year Hyundai added a base GLS trim level with a smaller 3.3 litre V-6.

The Azera Limited carries a 3.8 litre V-6 with 263 horsepower, which is a big boost over the output in the XG350, which the Azera replaced. Standard safety features across the line include eight airbags and an electronic stability system. Available luxuries include a powered tilt / telescoping steering column, a powered rear sunshade and leather upholstery.

The Limited sedan also comes with a handful options, including a powered tilt / telescoping steering column, rain-sensing wipers.  Power tilting side mirrors and power-adjustable pedals.  For 2008, Hyundai’s optional, bilingual navigation system is available with a 12-speaker, six – CD surround sound audio system gives directions in English and Arabic.  It also features a one touch screen that gives you directions to Mecca, which is firstly featured by the Azera.  Limited models without the navigation option have a 10-speaker.  Six CD-stereo; the audio system in the GLS has a single-disc player and six speakers.

The Azera GLS has a 3.3-litre V-6 that produces 234 hp and 226 pounds-feet of torque. The Azera Limited has a 3.8 litre V-6 that makes 263 hp and 257 pounds-feet of torque. With either engine, the standard five-speed automatic transmission incorporates Shiftronic for manually selectable gear changes.

Mitsubishi Fuso at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers participated in the 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007 with an exhibit outlining the company’s current and future vision for commercial vehicles.

Under the theme ‘All for You’ Mitsubishi Fuso introduced a new hybrid concept truck and displayed its latest heavy-duty truck and new sightseeing bus for the Japanese market. Articulating the company’s commitment not only to become “#1 for its customers,” but “the most reliable company” for all its stakeholders, these themes were interwoven into the company’s exhibit, with its “Obi” design symbolizing bonds with customers and society.

The Mitsubishi Fuso exhibit also included technology/component displays including a prototype future heavy-duty truck engine and a 12-speed mechanical automatic transmission.

The 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007 was conducted from October 26th to November 11th , 2007 at Makuhari Messe, Chiba City, Japan.

“Canter Eco-D”

The innovative “Canter Eco-D,” unveiled at the Show, is a view to further uses of hybrid technology in commercial vehicles. It is the first hybrid light-duty dump truck concept. The new Canter Eco-D shows that hybrid systems can bring distinct advantages to urban dump truck applications. Above and beyond its low emissions, the truck incorporates numerous advanced concepts for commercial vehicle styling, safety and functionality.

New Super Great

Mitsubishi Fuso’s exhibit at the Tokyo Motor also includes a special version of the Super Great heavy-duty truck for Japan. Based on the new generation Super Great launched in April of this year, the show model on display includes specifications for high fuel economy at highway speeds.

New Aero Queen

Representing Mitsubishi Fuso’s recently updated bus product line at the Tokyo Motor Show is the new Aero Queen. Introduced in June, this is the first full-line change of this heavy-duty sightseeing bus in 15 years. The new series completely renews both exterior and interior design, featuring a universal Fuso style appealing to people of all ages.
