Zayani Motors, the exclusive dealers of Mistsubishi in the Kingdom of Bahrain, are proud to announce that the Mitsubishi Outlander earned the IIHS 2015 Top Safety Pick+ . This makes it the third time the Outlander receives this rating.
The IIHS (the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) award confirms that the Mitsubishi Outlander officially is a safe vehicle. It received a good rating in all of the IIHS crash test categories - good enough for the agency to give it the Top Safety Pick+ award.
In order to earn the Top Safety Pick+ a vehicle must be able to mitigate a frontal crash on its own, and the Outlander achieves this through its available Forward Collision Mitigation System and its automatic braking system that successfully prevented a crash at 12 mph during testing.
The Mitsubishi’s keenness to provide a matchless safe vehicle is well-seen in the Outlander that employs front- and second-row curtain airbags, front seat-mounted torso airbags, a driver knee airbag, and advanced front airbags to protect its occupants (and their pizzas) in the event of a crash. And thanks to these features, it scored a "Good" rating on every crash test.
It’s worth noting that IIHS conducts vehicle tests to determine crashworthiness — how well a vehicle protects its occupants in a crash. It also rates vehicles for front crash prevention, systems that warn the driver or brake automatically to avoid or mitigate a frontal collision.
