Presenting the all-new
Mitsubishi Lancer EX 2008
In a grand celebration, Zayani Motors, the
exclusive dealership for Mitsubishi in the Kingdom, unveiled the
all-new sporty Lancer EX 2008 at a lavish ceremony that was held
at the Movenpick on Monday 27th August, 2007.

With the
introduction of the new generation Lancer EX 2008, Mitsubishi
achieves further success for its chart topper brand, setting a
new benchmark in the automobile world as the ultimate Sports
Sedan for so many people worldwide.
From the
original 1973 Lancer 1600 GSR- winner of numerous World Rally
Championships in Africa, Ivory coast, and Australia, the Lancer
has progressed a long way presenting us with today’s
revolutionary Lancer EX 2008.
The new
benchmark for sporting sedans, Mitsubishi Lancer EX 2008
abandons none of the qualities sedan fans expect. Its sporty
looks adapt the “energetic” new Mitsubishi Motors innovative
designs, complimented by extensive improvements.
The all-new
Lancer EX 2008 has much more to offer in terms of design,
performance and features proving, yet again, MMC’s innovation
and dedication to its custom of creating the finest.

It all starts
with the styling, and there's no doubt that the Lancer EX 2008,
from its shark-nosed ‘jet-fighter’ grille and 18-inch wheels to
its aerodynamic body cladding and color-keyed rear spoiler, is
today’s answer to a stylish sports wonder. It has an engine to
match its personality with - an all-new aluminum 2.0-liter MIVEC
filled with four-cylinder powerplant that delivers 152
horsepower. Add a sport-oriented suspension and a standard
five-speed manual overdrive transmission or the optional
Sportronic CVT with steering-wheel-mounted magnesium paddle
shifters, and you have a package that redefines driving sporty
sedans.
Up front the
lancer has an all new, redesigned Mac Pherson Strut front
suspension, which lends extra torsional rigidity. With the new
Lancer sporting the next generation of Mitsubishi’s RISE
(Reinforced Safety Evolution) chassis, the platform is further
reinforced with extensive use of high- tensile- strength steel,
which in turn enhances overall rigidity.
The interior of
the Lancer EX 2008 is beautifully designed where every control
is exactly where intuition tells you it should be, from the
paddle shifters to the audio controller. Lancer EX is filled
with features; a 9-speaker Rockford system, Multi-function
steering, and a keyless operation system, to name but a few.
Lancer EX 2008
also features a range of the latest safety technology, essential
for utmost peace of mind. With all round protection for when you
are in the car, Mitsubishi Lancer has taken almost everything
into consideration. The Lancer EX 2008 also comes with a
seven-airbag safety system, including advanced dual-stage front
airbags, as well as anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake-force
Distribution, which deliver optimal performance in any
condition. Adaptive Front Lighting System, sensors, EBS and ABS
in the Lancer EX, offers all-round protection from any road
hazard.
Find out how
Mitsubishi’s passion for driving has created a blend of power,
performance and aerodynamics that will have sports driving
connoisseurs instantly hooked, all combined with a style that is
undeniably Lancer.

Mitsubishi Rides High At
Pirelli International Rally
Guy Wilkes
celebrated his first drive for the Mitsubishi Motors team by
taking a dominant victory at the Pirelli International Rally.
The Darlington driver was in unstoppable form, quickest on 11 of
the events 14 stages and had over a minute in hand ahead of the
Subaru of Mark Higgins with last year's winner, Ryan Champion
third in his borrowed Mitsubishi.

The scale of the
26-year-old Pirelli International Rally victory against such
stiff opposition was also recognized by the judges of the
inaugural Pirelli Star Driver award who had little difficulty in
naming Wilkes as the first of six finalists to go forward to win
a ‘works drive’ in the 2008 British series.
At the finish in
Carlisle City centre Wilkes said, “It feels fantastic to win my
first International Rally and to do it in a production car is
excellent. The Pirelli Star Driver award is very special too as
the judges have all known me for a long time. And I know it
would take a big effort to impress them.”

The Pirelli
International Rally has a long and distinguished history
stretching back over a quarter of a century to 1974 when all the
motor clubs in Cumbria got together, to organize one "big"
event. The first rally called the Tour of Cumbria, ran in 1975
and attracted massive 180 entries.
It was an
exuberant Wilkes who headed for the finish ramp in Carlisle city
centre, having made a dream start to his British Championship
campaign on what had proved to be a tough opening round with the
tracks in Kielder being as unforgiving as ever.
